ORGANIZATION & PROCESS-
For our Music Marketing project we were assigned to organize and complete research on the marketing distribution practices associated with the genre of music we were given. The genre of music we were assigned was bluegrass.
For this project we got put into groups of 4 to 5 people. Each person had to fill out a chart, choosing a music production company and 2 artists that is represented by the company which related to our bluegrass genre. The two artists must have made music in the last 5 years in order to collect valid and updated information about the company as well as the artist.
RESEARCH-
Our case studies had to include modern trends in marketing and distribution that are represented among the artists in our chart. For our research we had to find pages and websites about our production company first to establish our base for our charts. Describing the short brief history about our company as well as listing the artists that worked within that company to produce their own music.
The Production company I chose in the end was "Lamon Records." The artists that I chose to include in my chart that worked alongside this company were Leonardo Flaco Jimenez, and Marty Stuart. Within our Genre, Bluegrass, i included similarities and characteristics that these artists held within their partnership with Lamon Records. As Lamon records is known most for their high achievements in bluegrass music production.
We searched to collect information about the artist. Some information included their Target Audience or Brand Identity, Digital Marketing and Distribution, or even their Non-digital marketing and distribution. We were urged to consider the choices the artist or company made in regards to the outcome of a product/production. Analyzing the artists social media presence or how they take advantage of technology during this generation.
