PROCESS-
- So how did my group and I come up with our company logo? Well we first wanted to create a logo that represents us but we still didn't know how to make it seem that way. Now to make a logo, we first have to come up with a name and then comes the design as. it is crucial to incorporate within our film opening. The logos should also help captivate the audience's attention to come watch our film. So we came up with a funny little idea for our name, which was a happy accident in a way.
NAME-
- For our name search we first decided to look for some inspiration from other film production companies that could spark an idea for our own. Even though we came across many fun names like "shutter films" or "ghost whisper productions", these name didn't really call out to us as they never fully felt like "us" or even "right." After a few other minutes of continuing our search, I had a thought about our own names: Jade, Emma, and Carolina. I told them that what if we combines our names to make something for our logo name. It would feel more like "us" because of our names are being part of the logo. After a few minutes trying to decode a name out of all of our names combines, Carolina suggested; what if we combine the first letter of our names? And so we did, in the result we came up with J.E.C productions! Now it was time to actually design our logo, since we now have a name we have to think of graphics and styles and fonts that we want to incorporate within our production logo.
CREATION/DESIGN-
- Now that we have our name: J.E.C productions, it is time to create our design and express our creativity within our logo. While creating the logo we started using the website Canva, and it was slightly challenging as we had to look through many new fonts. Many of the fonts looked cool as we tried them so we decided to use all of them and eliminate one by one until we decided on which one we liked best and which one would work more for our vision logo. We finally ended up choosing the Blanka font which was something quite spunky and new. We had never used this font before but we immediately liked it. Now that we have the font we had to decide on the color scheme and which design elements we would be utilizing within our logo. I had an idea since we had already used yellow in our poster, i thought wee could use purple for the letters J.E.C. Since purple and yellow are complementary colors (they sit opposite of each other on the color wheel) I thought it might be a nice touch. During the editing process of the colors we had some trouble deciding if we should use yellow for the word production or if we should just leave it plain black as it wasn't necessarily appealing to the eye. So we decided to leave it black. We knew we wanted too incorporate film in some way so Jade had the idea of having a film roll but that didn't work out too well, but we later found a cool camera design. We quickly included it in the creation of our logo, fitting perfectly with it. After finding the colors, design and the name, all we had left was to add some animation and finish up cleaning a few details. Since we had the camera pointing directly to the words J.E.C, i thought what if there was a small light that reflected from the camera to the words making it look like the camera is projecting the words. Jade spent a few minutes trying to ind the perfect animation that would bring our logo to life. In the end we finally had our animation and company logo perfected and done!
