Titles and Fonts!

 TITLE'S-

- Titles hold an important place within our film, as they are the first introduction to any sort of film or even TV show. A title is also used to captivate the audience firsthand, when looking at a poster of a film, it helps the audience associate and connect with the film as they watch it. Titles utilize a large range of fonts that can make any title stick out towards a specific target audience. That is my teams goal, we want to incorporate within our production a font that connects with our chosen title: Static. Yet not just our title holds the fonts but also the credit sequence, as we want to incorporate a glitchy looking font, to make it appear more eery to go along with our film.

FONTS-

- Fonts help establish the atmosphere that will be passed throughout the film. Not just the tone but the genre, emotion and storytelling as well. Using different colors and layouts also help with the context of the theme placed within the specific font in the title or credits. Colors create the identity in which we want our title to be held in (the status/ or genre/ or even mood). It helps create immediate recognition about the setting of the tone for the film. Colors are  strategic use of colors to evoke specific psychological reactions from the audience themselves.

PLANNING-

- When it comes to this topic of titles and fonts, my group and I haven't decided what exact font we want to be using within our credits for our opening project. Yet, we have looked at other examples from past thriller and mystery productions to help us gain some inspiration with the process. Jade has designed some mock up designs using Canva to design our production company logo, as well as trying to find the perfect font that fits for our film. One of my main inspirations is the film Se7en, as the glitchy, staticky credits are in line with what we want to incorporate with our own credits.

- These videos really helped explain the true meaning of why it is important to include these factors with our title and fonts within our film production.
